This Black History Month we are highlighting Pte Harold Brown, a decorated veteran of the First World War.

Harold served with the Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment (QRWS). You can read more about his military career, as well as the contributions of many other Black Britons, in Stephen Bourne’s fantastic book Black Poppies.
