Are you or your organisation interested in supporting the North East's engineers of the future?

FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge is the biggest STEM competition in the world, and now you can be part of it!

Teams of students aged 9-16 work together across the season on 4 equally weighted strands: The Robot Game, Robot Design, The Innovation Project and Core Values.

At our end of season tournaments they present their projects to our judges and compete in the Robot Game.

We are offering an outstanding, fun VOLUNTEERING experience where no prior experience is needed, just a desire to support and inspire the next generation to get into STEM.

📚 Start with reading. End with stronger writing.

Before pupils can write with confidence, they need time to explore, discuss and immerse themselves in high-quality texts. Effective immersion helps children develop vocabulary, understand language choices and build the knowledge they need to become successful writers.

Discover why beginning a writing unit with purposeful reading experiences can transform outcomes for pupils and strengthen the writing process from the very start.

As we begin the 2026/27 season and one chapter comes to a close, we reflect on the remarkable impact the programme has had. We also look ahead to the future and the many opportunities still to come for students, teachers, volunteers and partners.
