This weekend, we're hosting the ultimate sing-along concert for fans of a band that defined an era of rock music. 🎸

🎶 Jealousy, turning saints into the sea, swimming through sick lullabies, choking on your alibis. BUT IT'S JUST THE PRICE I PAY, destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes... 'CAUSE I'M MR. BRIGHTSIDE.

This is a celebration of the band that brought us Mr Brightside, Somebody Told Me and Human. The Killers formed in Las Vegas in 2001. Their debut album Hot Fuss sold over five million copies worldwide and produced some of the defining rock singles of the 00's. Follow-up albums Sam's Town and Day & Age cemented their status as one of the biggest rock acts of the 21st century, with Human, Read My Mind and Spaceman all becoming global radio staples. The band have now released seven studio albums and performed to sold-out arenas and festival headline slots on every continent. Mr. Brightside now holds the record as the longest-charting single in UK chart history, having spent over 500 weeks in the Top 100.

"My time in stand-up is one big happy accident. I went to watch a friend perform and decided to try my hand at a few gigs. On one of my first gigs, an organiser took me aside and told me they really enjoyed my awkward virgin persona. I didn’t realise I had a persona."

Christopher Donovan supports Alasdair Beckett-King in the first of this year's headline comedy shows presented by Howard Walker, on the 09th January 2027.

📰 Read more about Chris' time in stand-up and book tickets to see him support Alasdair Beckett-King on the Silsden Town Hall website.

✨ Silsden Town Hall is creating more opportunities in grassroots comedy by opening up slots for emerging talents to support headline comedians five times a year.

Silsden Town Hall commits to supporting local artists for years to come, with a policy that ensures northern performers make up the bulk of every programme. This isn't just about supporting local performers now; it's about making sure future generations keep up the good work.

More than 70% of the performers at Silsden Town Hall in 2026 were from the North of England. To ensure the Town Hall continues to invest ticket revenue in local arts, a permanent policy to support northern music, theatre and comedy has been introduced. From January, continuing immediately on the back of the current programme, at least 60% of all performers in any one season will be from the North of England.

This policy is designed to outlast all current trustees and staff of the Town Hall, to ensure the legacy of a programme that supported local talent is built upon for those who will benefit from this building after us. It builds on our mission to fulfil the Town Hall's original purpose, set out by Lord Hothfield 140 years ago: "This building is not for this generation only, but it is intended to go down future generations for the cultural enrichment of the community."

"If you enjoy material about physical weakness, card factory, working in retail, films, and Batman (you know, all the heavy topics), then we’re going to have a great night together." 💬

Stand-up comedian Christopher Donovan supports Alasdair Beckett-King, presented by Howard Walker, on Saturday 16th January.

"Earlier this year I gigged in Bath and ended up winning the local competition. I love seeing the humour and preferences of different regions, and stand-up has given me the opportunity to travel all over the UK gigging. This is why I’m so grateful to be gigging at Silsden Town Hall. A venue that places emphasis on grassroots performers and gives them a chance to show what they can do. I haven’t been to the area before, and I’m excited to look around."
