Sink Hole- Alma Road

Just to make you all aware- Highways ( who are responsible for road maintenance) are aware of the continued issue and have already scheduled further works to correct the problem. Should you encounter any other highways issues, we urge you to report them directly to Highways at Norfolk County Council as they have a special reporting system that requires them to act within set time limits. Members of the public reporting problems directly will speed matters considerably. So we would urge you to use the reporting system, rather than reporting it to the Parish Council. Here is the link

Temporary Closure of Lamsey Lane, Heacham

Works to complete the Lamsey Lane junction improvement scheme on the A149 at Heacham are due to commence on 14 September 2026. It is anticipated that these works will be completed by 20 November 2026, subject to site and operational conditions.
The main junction improvement works carried out in Autumn/Winter 2025 could not be fully completed at the time due to an outstanding diversion of existing Anglian Water infrastructure
The works will take place at the end of Lamsey Lane, adjacent to the A149. Due to the nature of the works and the need to maintain a safe working environment, Lamsey Lane will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the works. This will ensure that traffic on the A149 remains largely unaffected, except for a short period towards the end of the programme when final surfacing works are carried out.
Bus passengers should check with their bus operator for any alterations to services.
The County Council thanks everyone for their patience while the utility diversion and final improvement work is carried out.
The work will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
