Have you spotted our special plaque at Hadleigh Country Park? It's there because the park is home to the rare shrill carder bee. 🐝

This small bumblebee is now found in only a handful of locations across the UK, including our very own park, thanks to the rich variety of wildflowers and habitats that support the species. 🌼🌷

Looking for something fun to do this half term?

Join us at the meeting room at Hadleigh for a cosy autumn-themed storytime session and crafts with the Essex Libraries Team.

Drop in on Tuesday 27 October from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Visit Hadleigh Farm Estate to discover other fun activities run by the Salvation Army this half-term at Hadleigh.

Improvements will take place to our two pump tracks this autumn/winter! 🛼 🛹 🚲
Visitors should be aware that our existing pump tracks will be completely closed to the public while work takes place (Monday 12 October to early December 2026).
Thanks to Essex County Council the two existing pump tracks will be revamped and modernised with updated layouts and surfaces, also making them suitable for scooters, skateboards and roller skates as well as bicycles. And riders of all ages and abilities.
We are pleased to be working with On Track, one of the UK’s leading bike facilities and design contractors.
The rest of the park will remain open as usual including the play areas, trails and café.

🍄🍂 Have you spotted any fungi at Hadleigh Country Park yet?

Autumn is the perfect time to get outdoors and explore, with fascinating mushrooms and fungi beginning to appear across our park.

We've worked with our Rangers to create a FREE spotter's guide featuring some of the different species you might discover during your visit.

From giant puffballs to oyster mushrooms, there's plenty to keep your eyes peeled for on your next walk.

Please remember to leave fungi undisturbed, take photographs instead, and help protect these important woodland species. 🧡
