The Sky King

From the storm‑kissed cliffs of Scotland’s edge,
Where waves crash wild and seabirds pledge,
A shadow soars, with eyes of flame,
The white‑tailed eagle, carved of fame.

Its wings, a banner against the mist,
A hunter born of wind and fist.
Through Highlands high and islands wide,
It reigns where sea and sky collide.

No crown of gold, no throne of stone,
Yet in this realm it stands alone.
A sovereign fierce, forever free,
The Sky King of the Hebrides.

Time takes him further from my reach, but never from my heart. What slips through my fingers lives forever in my soul.

Time gnaws and wears away all things-what once stood proud crumbles to dust, and even the grandest empires dissolve into ruin.

Scotland’s Wild and Wondrous Land

Beneath the sky of shifting grey,
Where mountains rise and waters play,
Scotland stands in rugged grace,
A land of beauty, time can’t erase.

In Glasgow’s heart, the river winds,
Through streets alive with artful minds,
A city bold, where echoes call,
Of stories carved in sandstone tall.

To Glencoe’s glen, where ghosts reside,
Of battles fought and hearts denied,
The mist rolls in on heathered ground,
A solemn hush, no softer sound.

Loch Lomond’s waves reflect the sky,
As ospreys watch the salmon fly,
Beneath the peaks so vast, so high,
Where lovers part with longing sigh.

The Isle of Skye, where cliffs embrace
The winds that whisper olden grace,
Eagles soar and deer roam free,
A world untouched by time’s decree.

The Isle of Mull, with shores so wide,
Where otters in the waters hide,
And puffins dance on rugged stone,
A wild, untamed, enchanted throne.

Oh Scotland, land of myth and lore,
Where nature sings forevermore,
With every glen and mountain tall,
Your wild heart still enthralls us all.
