Old Mill Stirling

Independent whisky bottlers and retailers, The Scottish Gantry based in Stirling and Milngavie has announced the release of it's second Macallan cask bottling. Following on from it’s successful release in 2019 of the 26 year old Macallan (Number 1 in a series curated by whisky veteran David Boyd), the team at the Scottish Gantry have released an exceptional single malt Macallan which was distilled in 1990.

As a distillery, Macallan is revered and renowned worldwide for luxury and excellence. This second release, spent three decades quietly maturing in the Scottish Highlands before being finished in a freshly seasoned Pedro Ximinez Sherry Hogshead. Yielding only enough spirit to fill 220 bespoke decanters the whisky is soft on the nose with notes of apricot, roasted almonds, cinnamon and a delicate aroma of dried figs.

Described by David Boyd as having a rich sticky toffee character with stunning sweetness of Muscovado sugar this is surely a release that all whisky and Macallan collectors will be clamouring for.
