We are hosting a special Stockport Town of Culture Weekender Walking Tour tomorrow meeting at 1pm in Stockport Museums. It is a ticketed event but if anyone would like to join us who hasn't got a ticket, you'd be very welcome.

We'll be spending time in the Strawberry Recording Studios exhibition where Dr Peter Wadsworth will be revealing some fascinating artefacts from the Strawberry archive.

Then we will be taking a walk around the Market Place to see the newly installed plaque for Hologram Studios then walking down to Great Underbank to watch Otto Schade put the finishing touches to the Joy Division Unknown Pleasures street art on the Syndikat building.

We will be heading up Little Underbank to see the plaque for The Sinking Ship in Royal Oak Yard and joined by special guest Dee Christopholus, the lead singer from Wimple Winch, who were the resident band for the club and supported The Jimi Hendrix Experience when they played on 12th February 1967.

After the walking tour, we are holding a social gathering and exhibition in Thread Bar Stockport who are very kindly providing some refreshments for anyone who would like to join us. This is an opportunity to talk to Dee and to listen to a great 1960's playlist of tracks played at The Sinking Ship and The Tabernacle.

Also the weather is looking great so we look forward to seeing you!
