💜17 November is World Prematurity Day💜

💡 Did you know that 1 baby out of 10 is born preterm 💜
Every year, over 13 million babies worldwide are born too soon. 💜
Preterm birth often means long hospital stays for baby and parents, lots of worries, procedures and treatments, eventually discharge from hospital but possibly followed by long-term consequences for the baby’s health and further development. 💜
On a global scale, despite all the advances made in medicine, preterm birth is still the leading cause of death in children under 5 years of age.



👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Therefore, on we raise awareness of the burden of preterm birth for babies, families, and healthcare professionals and systems. We celebrate these babies and their parents and send a message of gratitude to professionals. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

World Breastfeeding week is upon us. Let’s keep talking about breastfeeding and continue supporting new mums on their breastfeeding journey. 💞

All the eggs a woman will ever carry form in her ovaries while she is a four-month-old fetus in the womb of her mother.
