Not only did they get to take their pot and seedling home, they also planted some for our market garden! Small seedlings today, a pocket of sunshine pending…

There are so many exciting projects at Riverside House at the moment. These are just some glimpses, there is plenty more to come soon. The projects include:
Laying out the paths and seating areas in the cottage garden. This will be completed in spring 2027 with beautifully designed planting by Wild Goose Gardens.
We have had a round table, shelving and cabinets designed and installed by Dual Works - pictures coming soon - it's practical and looks gorgeous.
A Lister stationary engine refurbishment by Dave Harris and the guys - to be completed soon.
We have submitted Listed Building Consent to Dudley planning to restore the walls, greenhouse and cold frame bases with Victorian style hardwood frames.
We have had a condition survey undertaken on the house itself. Very soon we will be hiring cherry pickers to tentatively start careful dismantling of any dangerous brickwork and safeguarding the rest of the house.
We are at the last stages of the Heritage Centre planning application and are lining up some great funders.
We are about to launch craft workshops for the local community and developing other cultural activities and events.
..plus the usuals careful care of the site, its flora, the market garden and the rest of this beautiful place all undertaken by our fantastic staff, volunteers, crafts people and of course, the guys.

This morning, across the river, loads and loads of white, plastic, adhesive tape had been wrapped around the trees and other vegetation - it looked horrendous and would have been impossible to remove after the spring growth. They cleared the whole area and filled five bin bags. They are from year 7,8 and 9 at Redhill School and one was from Kinver High School. We offered them a couple of quid each, but it was the way they were so helpful and hardworking that impressed us. Thank you lads...
