The National Forest

The National Forest The National Forest is one of the country's boldest environmental projects. It is transforming 200 square miles in the centre of England.

This largescale landscape change has already delivered regeneration; it will increasingly help us to address climate change and to value and enjoy our natural environment. The National Forest Company was established by Government in April 1995. It is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). It leads, through working partnerships with landowners, businesses, public, private and voluntary organisations and local communities to fulfil the shared vision for the Forest, promoting the widest possible participation in and enjoyment of the Forest.

It was a pleasure to join Samantha Niblett MP at Cadborough Wood in Overseal on Friday to plant this young oak. 🌱

The tree adds to the 10 million already planted across the National Forest, helping to restore the landscape for nature, people and enterprise for generations to come. 🌳

🌳 We're recruiting: Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive

Are you highly organised, proactive and looking for a role where you can make a real difference?

We're looking for an Executive Assistant to support our Chief Executive and help keep the National Forest Company running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work with senior leaders, Trustees, partners, MPs and Ministers, while helping deliver one of the UK's most ambitious environmental programmes.

No two days will be the same. From organising high-level meetings and events to supporting strategic projects and stakeholder engagement, you'll play a vital role in helping us grow the Forest and increase our impact.

If you're an exceptional organiser with great judgement, attention to detail and relationship-building skills, we'd love to hear from you.

🐝 Bee-lieve it or not, we've got another Transformative Tourism Champion to celebrate!

We recently popped over to Cattows Farm to present David Bee Farmer McDowell with his award, in front of a few of his hives.

David's passion for bees is helping visitors connect with nature in a memorable way, proving that great tourism experiences can also support the environment.

Cattows Farm is a Champion too, so there was plenty to celebrate during our visit.

Together, our Champions are showing that protecting nature and welcoming visitors can go hand in hand.

And thanks to people like David, the future is looking a little brighter... and a lot buzzier. 🐝

You can read more about our other Champions here: https://www.nationalforest.org/whats-new/news/national-forest-celebrates-champions-leading-the-way-in-a-greener-future-for-tourism

Congratulations, David! 🌳
