When you meet an interviewer, they want to understand your skills, experience, and how you work with others. So how do you appear to be confident, even if you aren't?

First of all, smile to appear friendly and approachable, make eye contact, and talk clearly about the tasks you have done and the results you achieved. Try to avoid filler words such as “um” or “err” - a short pause is better than rushing to fill silence.

Key points to remember:
• Use open and positive body language
• Smile and make eye contact
• Give examples of how your work made an impact

These simple choices help you come across as capable, professional, and ready to contribute.

Parents and carers supporting a young person ⭐

Results Day can bring excitement, uncertainty, and a mix of emotions for everyone involved, but you don’t have to navigate this on your own.

Give them space to process how they’re feeling and remind them that one set of results doesn’t define their future.

Whatever the outcome, there are always options and different paths forward. Call 0800 100 900 to make an appointment with one of our careers advisers or visit https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0xC0Jg0
