🏃‍♀️🌳 Moors Valley junior parkrun #426 – Sunday 25th October 2026 🌳🏃‍♂️

🍂 The clocks went back, but our juniors were right on time! 🍂

We started the morning with things looking a little damp, but thankfully the weather brightened up as we went along. A bit of drizzle wasn't going to stop our brilliant juniors from getting out there and doing their thing! 🌦️

A fantastic 162 finishers joined us this morning, supported by an amazing team of 33 hi-vis heroes. Give yourselves a huge round of applause! 👏💚

🏅 PBs galore!
An incredible 44 personal bests were recorded today. Well done to you all🌟

🌱 A big Moors Valley welcome!
We welcomed 37 first timers to Moors Valley junior parkrun, including 21 juniors taking part in their very first junior parkrun!
Welcome to the parkrun family, Julius, Danny, Amelie, Amber, Sam, Thomas, Rowan, Xander, Carys, Noah, Matilda, Nell, Josephine, Manon, Phoebe, Fabien, Belle, Leila, Alexander, Joshua and Neriah. We hope you loved it and will be back for more! 💚

There were some brilliant milestones to celebrate today:
🔟 10 junior parkruns: William, Joey, Jacob, Michael and Lily
🟣 25 junior parkruns: Izzy and Benjamin
🔴 50 junior parkruns: Charlie
💯 100 junior parkruns: Thomas – an absolutely fantastic achievement, and just before your 15th Birthday! 🖤👏

As always, junior parkrun simply wouldn't happen without our fantastic volunteers. Huge thanks to all 33 hi-vis heroes who helped make the event possible today.

We look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow morning.

We fully intend to go ahead despite Storm Boelo tonight.
However, we will be up bright and breezy 😁 tomorrow to do a course check at 08:00.
If we need to cancel we will post it, so please check before leaving (no news is good news).

The lower car park where we usually warm up is hosting stalls for the Halloween trail, so we move back to our secondary warm up location behind the beehive.
We will have marshals deployed to guide you there if you are not sure.

Finally don't forget the clocks change tonight so you should hopefully get an extra hour in bed.

We look forward to meeting you tomorrow at 08:50 for the brief and warmup

🍂🏃 Moors Valley junior parkrun #425 – 18th October 2026 🏃🍂

What a beautiful morning at Moors Valley junior parkrun! ☀️ The sun was shining, but there was definitely a bit of a chill in the air. Perfect weather for running, provided you remembered to warm up first! 😁

A fantastic 156 juniors joined us this morning, supported by our brilliant team of 38 hi-vis heroes. 💚

🌟 PB corner!
An enormous well done to all 36 runners who achieved a personal best this morning. Too many to list without needing another lap of the course, but every single one deserves a cheer! 👏🎉

Time to get spooky! Witches, vampires, pumpkins, ghosts or anything else suitably Halloween-ish are all welcome. 🎃

🎂 Sunday 15th November – Our 10th Birthday Celebration!
Ten years of Moors Valley junior parkrun – that's definitely worth celebrating! 🥳
Our loose fancy-dress theme is TV, films and superheroes, so dust off those capes, superhero outfits and favourite screen-character costumes. But don't worry if that's not your thing – come dressed as whatever you fancy! The more colourful and creative, the better!

Event #418 30/08/2026

As the wonderful volunteers arrived for the event, the weather was looking a bit grim.

The RD confidently informed everyone we would be OK as the rain would arrive at 10:00.

It was therefore ironic that the heavens opened during his brief.
Well done to everyone who sheltered under the trees.

Fortunately the rain stopped before the wristbands were handed out.
Congratulations to Theo, Barney and
Jack who collected their 50 wristbands and to Amelie and Mason who collected their 25 wristbands.
Well done everyone.

Following Imogen and Amelie's fabulous warmup, 140 junior superstars tackled the slightly soggy course.

32 runners thrived in the conditions and achieved a Personal Best. Congratulations to you all.

Despite the iffy weather we welcomed 17 first timers to our event including 7 juniors running their first ever junior parkrun.
We hope you will come back again soon.

Finally a big thank you to all our fabulous volunteers, who made the event possible, including a special helper "Big Ted".

A big shout out to Michelle Vick who volunteered for the 250th time, and to Thomas Southby who volunteered for the 50th time.

🌳🏃‍♀️ Moors Valley junior parkrun #417 – 23/08/2026 🏃‍♂️🌳

What a cracking morning at Moors Valley! ☀️ The sun was shining, the hi-vis heroes were out in force, and 134 brilliant juniors made their way around the course. 👏

There were 31 PBs to celebrate – fantastic running! 🏆
And a big welcome to our 25 first timers. We hope you enjoyed your first taste of junior parkrun and will be back for more!

A special welcome to the 6 runners taking part in junior parkrun for the very first time – Leo, Ciaran, Harry, Forrest, Oliver and Arthur.

Another Sunday, another brilliant morning at Moors Valley! 🙌

114 juniors made their way around the course, cheered on by 27 fantastic hi-vis heroes. 💛

Moors Valley junior parkrun #415 – 9th August 2026 💚🏃‍♂️

Another warm and sunny Sunday, another chance to unleash 126 young parkrunners around Moors Valley! 🌳🏃‍♀️

We had 126 finishers, with 24 PBs — clearly quite a few of you had found an extra gear this morning! 🚀👏

A big welcome to our 23 first timers, including 14 who were taking part in their very first junior parkrun.

Apologies for the technical difficulties at the start. Someone in the core team forgot to charge the speaker.
No names, but you can probably guess who😀

🎉 Huge congratulations to Lily and Todd who collected their 10 junior parkruns wristbands. Well done to the pair of you.

And congratulations to our volunteering superstars:
👏 Natalie Phillipson – 25 volunteer occasions!
👏 Jude Mellor-Young - 75 volunteer occasions!
👏 Erica – a fantastic 250 volunteer occasions!

A special shout-out too to Alex on completing his first volunteer role.
Apparently he just turned up with his family for a breakfast in the local cafe, but got talked into helping us while his sister ran.

We said goodbye to Olivia, who ran her last junior parkrun before turning 15.
She has run with us 87 times out of a total of 92 junior parkruns.

What a way to spend a Sunday morning! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

165 junior parkrunners made their way around the course this week, helped along by a fantastic team of 30 hi-vis heroes. 💛
There were an impressive 36 PBs — clearly someone forgot to tell tnem that Sunday mornings are for taking it easy! 😜

We also welcomed 42 first timers, including 10 juniors taking part in their very first junior parkrun.
