Tiree Community Fire Station

11/09/2026

Today, the crew at Tiree Community Fire Station stood alongside firefighters and emergency service colleagues from stations across the country to observe a one-minute silence to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

At 1:46pm, we paused to remember every single person who lost their life that day — the 2,977 innocent people whose lives were taken in the terrorist attacks.

Among them were 343 firefighters, 60 police officers and 11 other emergency responders who lost their lives that day.

We will remember them.
We will honour them.
We will never forget.

A huge well done and thank you to Volunteer Leader Margaret Worsley and Firefighter Joanna Martin, who proudly represented the Fire Fighters Charity at the Tiree Music Festival this weekend.

Thanks to their dedication, enthusiasm and fantastic engagement with festival-goers, Margaret and Joanna raised an impressive £835 for the charity, helping to support the invaluable services it provides to the fire services community.
