On Wednesday night, we put on proper clothes and went to the Kent Business Awards, where Kidsbury was up for three awards. The room was full of brilliant local businesses, so we went in with no expectations at all, and came out with Best Start-Up.

We were thrilled. We said our thank-yous and went home to relieve the babysitter.

What we didn’t know was that the finalists from every category had been entered into one last award: the best business of Tunbridge Wells overall. Shortly after we’d left, they announced that we’d won it.

So yes, we won one of the biggest awards of the night and weren’t there to collect it. 😩

We are so proud. Two years in, there have been a lot of late-night meetings, early-morning rushes and brownies baked at unreasonable hours. Recognition like this make everything feel worth it.

None of it happens without you: every booking, every coffee, every review. Thank you.

🎄 KIDSBURY CHRISTMAS TOY SWAP 🎁

Fact: your child has lots of toys.

Fact: they play with about four of them.

Fact: a generous man in red is about to bring more.

So before he gets here, give the toy cupboard a clear-out. Or a full, cathartic, bin-bag overhaul.

📦 DONATE: 1st to 20th November, during our usual opening hours. Toys, books, games, dressing up, play kitchens and their tiny appliances (not your actual toaster). As long as they are clean, complete, and in a state you’d happily pass to another family. And please, we beg you 🙏 don’t leave bags outside if we’re closed.

🔁 SWAP: Tuesday 24th November. We’re closing the village and opening a shop, so you can browse in peace and grab a free present without your kids spotting the things you’ve just given away. Take home whatever your lot will love. It’s free, and you don’t need to have donated to come.

☕ The café’s open as usual, and grabbing a coffee or a cookie while you browse helps us cover the cost of putting it on.

Anything left over will go to local charities, schools and nurseries, so it all finds a home.

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, which is thoughtful of it. So, on 31st October, every play session at Kidsbury is a Halloween special.

Come in fancy dress: Witches, dinosaurs, a Spiderman/Elsa hybrid, it’s all welcome.

We’ve done the decorations and can promise nothing jumps out, no one will need the landing light left on and nothing will cause a 3am wake up (well, nothing we’ve done.) There’ll be gently spooky music and plenty of Halloween activities too.

Plus, every child goes home with a little Halloween party bag on us. With no sweeties, we’re sure there’ll be plenty of them on the trick or treat trip.

It’s here! The Kidsbury Christmas Show 2026!

This Christmas, come with us to the North Pole for a brand-new adventure with old friends Tizzy and Jakob. Forty-five minutes of laughter, live music and Christmas warmth.

Tizzy is finally a proper elf, and everything is going swell (mostly) until she finds a letter to Father Christmas asking for the one thing the elves cannot make. Thankfully, she knows someone who makes the impossible possible, Jakob the Toymaker. Together, can they find a way to grant the wish before sunrise?

Whether you’re meeting Tizzy for the first time or can’t wait to see her again. The Christmas Elf and the Impossible Wish is sure to be a highlight of the Christmas season.

Kidsbury is two. 🎈

Two years ago we opened the doors with an idea for a play space that felt a bit different, and absolutely no plan for what might happen next.

Since then: thousands of brilliant families, more renditions of Happy Birthday than any building could reasonably hope for, familiar faces that have quietly become part of our every week. Children who arrived barely walking now order their own babyccino’s like they own the place.

Whether you’ve been coming since our first week, found us somewhere along the way, or visited exactly once on a rainy Wednesday, thank you. Genuinely.

So this year, rather than hosting a big shindig (and all the extra planning involved in that!), we thought we’d give something back.

The first day of school can be a funny one, can’t it?

You might be excited. Emotional. Relieved. Proud. Nervous. Completely fine. Not fine at all. Or somehow feeling all of those things at once. ❤️

Wherever you’re at, we want to say well done, you.

So, from 2nd–14th September, we’re offering parents a free coffee (or tea) on their child’s first day of reception. ☕️

Whether you’re bringing a younger sibling in to play, popping past on your way home, or just fancy sitting down for five minutes with a coffee and a chat - come and see us.

No expectations. No need to be having a wobble. No need to be absolutely fine either. Just a little coffee from us to you, because starting school is a big deal for parents too. 🥹❤️
