⛔ TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BAY ROAD, GILLINGHAM ⛔

DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Bay Road, Gillingham approximately 70 metres south of Deer Leap Farm. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users. It
will come into operation between 08:00 - 18:00 on 13th November 2026 and remain in force for five days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13th November 2026.

This Notice will enable Openreach safe access to carry out pole replacement works in the highway.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

For further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Circet (Agents for Openreach) on 07971 142611. To discuss this Notice, contact Dorset Council on 01305 221020 or use our website: www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks/enquiries.

🛒 Here are this week's urgent items and also the items we are running low on.

We would be so grateful if you can keep these in mind if you are planning to donate over the next week. They can be dropped at any of the locations listed.

Adding just one of these items into your weekly shop will help give to those in need in the community.

Thank you!

We want your Halloween to be absolutely fang-tastic 🧛‍♂️

But please remember that Halloween can be a scary time for some. If you are out trick-or-treating, look for the houses that are decorated so you can be sure they are welcoming visitors 🎃

Some people may get distressed by strangers knocking on their door so please be considerate and, if you are not sure, stick to the houses of people you know so that everyone can have a stay safe season.

Whether you are welcoming trick-or-treaters or not wanting visitors head to our website: https://orlo.uk/W5lIU and download the poster relevant to you 👻
