Today we mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by remembering all those who lost their lives, and holding in our hearts the people who still live with the impact of the terrible events of that day.

We join people around the world in reflecting on the bravery and selfless sacrifice of 412 brave and dedicated emergency service workers, including 343 firefighters, who died in the response and recovery at the World Trade Center.

We will forever honour their legacy.

At approx 19:10 this evening, (21/08), C41 Bootle was mobilised to reports of a fire in the open in the wooded area next to Hycemoor, Bootle. This fire has either been accidentally started by the washer machine drum in the photo being used as a fire pit or purposely lit and left. Regardless of the reasons, any spread of fire, even if accidental should not be left to burn away on its own. Please, if who ever is responsible see’s this post, call 999 in future. If not for a few rain showers in the last 24 hours the outcome of this fire could have been very different. There was also a den built in the area of fire, so please can local parents make their children aware of the dangers associated.
