Mike Domingue is standing for another term as Town Councillor in Hexham East.
Mike is another Councillor you wish we had in every council seat. He's dedicated to getting things done, passionate about Hexham's community and infrastucture, now and in the future, as well as committed to doing all the responsible stuff like... committee work. He gets on really well with other councillors and, like Fay, - he cares!

Vote this Thursday!

Thank you Hexhamtv for the interview.

We think Fay is doing a grand job as current Councillor. She is hard working, takes her responsibilities seriously and has great ideas for Hexham. She also works really well with other Councillors, which is important for getting things over the line. Oh, and Fay cares.
We'd like to see her continue the good stuff for another 4 years. She is standing for Town Council again in Hexham West. Please remember to vote this Thursday, 1st May. Bring ID.

Thanks for the interview Hexhamtv

Thank you, everyone!!

It's a wrap! The OpenHexham candidates you voted for four years ago, their friends and supporters have worked hard to make Hexham a place where people's voices are heard by Town Council and it's time to make space for others now.

Our elected councillors contributed with a passion as volunteers for the council, injecting consideration for community, the environment, culture, active travel and people of all ages and abilities while also doing the less public stuff that comes with responsible administration of a well-run town council that, simply put: now cares - a lot!

We feel we have changed the look and feel of your town governance for good and in doing so have maybe participated in encouraging others to join in the local decision-making going forward. Just check out the diversity of candidates on your ballot paper on polling day, this Thursday, 1st May!

OpenHexham did what it said on the tin: bring together a bunch of local people who all cared massively for Hexham and wanted local decision-making to be done by passionate residents rather than just one party. Together we supported each other to campaign as independents and were there for each other once working in council.

We could not have done what we did without you, our voters and well-wishers. A big, massive thank you to you all!

OpenHexham councillors hoping for a second term with the new bunch of candidates are:

*Fay Hartland: standing as independent in Hexham West

*Michael Domingue: standing as Green in Hexham East

We'll post interviews with them courtesy of Hexhamtv shortly.

Now go and do the good stuff and vote this Thursday 1st May! Don't forget your ID.

Keep the last 4 years' progress at Hexham Town Council and community going. The town needs more candidates. Talk to Fay, Mike or Ariane about the role.

After some detailed preps and lots of reading, Cllr Mike Domingue was able to relax late on Monday evening!
Hexham Town Council voted unanimously on his suggestion (it's called a 'motion' on the agenda...) to call on NCC to divest staff pensions from fossil fuels.
Little by little we are working on changes to the structure of council practices in order to draw attention to and mitigate the effects of the climate and biodiversity crisis. HTC currently has 4 staff, that's 4 pensions investments weighing on its carbon footprint. Please ask your county councillors on progress. Speak to your council about this, if you live outside Hexham.
Watch the debate on Hexhamtv (begins at 40mins).
