Suffolk Bat Rescue This page is run by volunteers dedicated to the rescue & care of sick and injured bats in Suffolk wi

Our Suffolk Bat Rescue page is aimed to provide guidance to members of the general public who have found injured, sick or grounded (unable to fly) bats. As a group we provide guidelines on what to do if you find an injured bat. A dedicated bat ambulance driver or bat carer will then arrange with you to come and collect the bat at a suitable time. A bat carer will then take on the role of looking after the bat until it is well enough to be returned to the wild. Unfortunately not of all the bats survive but all the carers are trained to a level where they will provide the best they can in order to get all bats fully rehabilitated if possible. Generally you will be able to watch the bat being released back into the wild if you wish to do so as we always release back in the area which they where originally found. If you are interested in becoming a voluntary bat carer or ambulance driver please do get in touch. Full training and support will be provided and we are always grateful for some extra hands on deck particularly in our main bat season from May to October. The amount of hours you would like to do is purely optional for what suits you. Suffolk Bat Rescue works closely with the Bat Conservation Trust and abides by their guidelines. We also have strong links with Suffolk Bat Group for support on the conservation and ecology of the species.
