Appreciation for Local Businesses 🚒

When you see the Pewsey fire appliance responding to calls, it’s crewed by local firefighters who live and work within the Pewsey area.

We’ve been extremely busy over the last few months, and Pewsey’s appliance simply wouldn’t be available to respond without the incredible support of local businesses.

One business that deserves a special thank you is Fordbrook Kitchens & Interiors. Fordbrook supports Pewsey Fire Station by releasing two firefighters to provide vital daytime cover. Without their support, Pewsey would not have the same ability to respond to multiple incidents within our community.

This support doesn’t just benefit the fire service it also has an impact on the employer, who makes a real commitment to supporting their local community and emergency services.

So, a huge thank you to the local businesses for your continued support and for helping us keep Pewsey and the surrounding communities safer. Your support really does make a difference. 🚒

This afternoon saw Pewsey attend a crop field fire alongside crews from Marlborough Fire Station, Ludgershall Fire Station and Royal Wootton Bassett Fire Station.

Working closely with local farmers to create fire breaks, helping stop the fire spread further across the field. Thanks to the excellent team work and swift action, crews were able to bring the incident under control.

A huge thanks to everyone involved, especially the local farming community whose rapid assistance played a vital role in protecting the surrounding area.

As the warm, dry weather continues, please take extra care in the country side. Small sparks can develop quickly into significant fires.

🚨could YOU answer the call?🚨

Pewsey Fire Station are looking for people in the community to become On Call Firefighters. If you live or work within the local area and are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re interested in finding out more, get in touch with us or visit the DWFRS On-Call recruitment page.

🚒 Disposable BBQ Found at Queen’s View, Pewsey Hill 🚒

A disposable BBQ has been found abandoned at the new Queen’s View area on Pewsey Hill.

With the current hot, dry weather, it only takes a small spark or hidden ember to ignite dry grass and vegetation. Even when a disposable BBQ feels cool, it can retain enough heat to start a fire long after it’s been used.

🌾 Please don’t use disposable BBQs on grassland, open countryside or beauty spots.
🔥 A single careless act could lead to a devastating wildfire, putting wildlife, property, and lives at risk, as well as endangering firefighters responding to the incident.

We all have a part to play in protecting our beautiful countryside—especially during this heatwave.

Thank you to the person who reported and removed this BBQ before it had the chance to cause a fire.

Please share this post to help spread the message and help keep Pewsey safe. 🚒🌿☀️

30 years apart… and what a story these photos tell. 🚒❤️

These two crew photos, taken 30 years apart, show just how special the fire service family really is.

A familiar face appears in both photos – FF Simon Green, proudly serving across three decades, a testament to commitment, dedication and service to the community.

Times have changed, the appliances have changed, and the uniforms have changed… but the values of teamwork, camaraderie and commitment remain exactly the same.

Here’s to everyone who has served, those who continue to serve, and the friendships and memories that make the fire service such a special family.

30 years of memories, dedication, and proud service. 👨‍🚒🔥
