What a week! As we reach the final day of the first-ever National Cadets Week, we’ve celebrated the people, opportunities and experiences that make the Air Cadets so special.

From our cadets making a difference in their communities and developing skills for life, to the incredible volunteers who give their time to support them, this week has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase what being an Air Cadet is all about.

Over today, we'll be sharing squadron wrap-up posts highlighting the activities, achievements and people from squadrons across Kent. Keep an eye on our social media to see what your local squadrons have been getting up to.

A huge thank you to every cadet, volunteer, family member and supporter who helps make our organisation what it is

National Cadets Week - Day 5: Skills for Life

Being an Air Cadet is about more than earning qualifications and completing activities. It’s about developing skills that stay with you long after your time in uniform. Across Kent Wing, cadets are constantly learning through real experiences. Whether it's leading others, communicating as a team, solving problems, making decisions or taking on new challenges, every experience helps prepare them for the future.

From the parade ground to the classroom, the airfield to the great outdoors, cadets have countless opportunities to learn, grow and discover what they’re capable of. Because the skills you gain as a cadet don't stop being useful when you take your uniform off. They’re Skills for Life

National Cadets Week - Day 4: Cadets Saving Lives

Across Kent Wing, our cadets are developing skills that could one day help them make a real difference in an emergency.

First aid training gives cadets the opportunity to learn how to assess situations, provide immediate assistance and respond calmly when someone is injured or unwell. From basic first aid through to more advanced training, these are skills that can stay with them for life.

For our cadets, learning first aid is about more than gaining a badge or qualification. It's about being prepared to step forward, take action and help someone when they need it most.

You never know when a skill learned on a cadet course could become the most important skill you've ever used

National Cadets Week - Day 3: Volunteer Celebration

Behind every Air Cadet is a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills and experience to help young people thrive. Across Kent Wing, our Civilian Instructors, uniformed staff and adult volunteers give up their evenings, weekends and holidays to deliver training, organise activities, support camps and create opportunities for our cadets.

From teaching new skills and leading adventurous activities to keeping squadrons running behind the scenes, our volunteers make a huge difference every single day. Today, we celebrate the people who give their time so others can discover what they're capable of.

Thank you to every Kent Wing volunteer. Your commitment makes all the difference
