👋Long time no see! Sorry about being MIA on here - but we have our reasons (as outlined in the post haha)! We’ve been so busy the last few months with shows and fulfilling all your orders - so thank you everyone for keeping us busy!

We hope everyone is having a great Autumn so far! 🍂🍁 let’s catch up! Did you go to GroundsFest too? Have you been renovating your lawn? Are you still harvesting tomatoes like us? Or are you already sewing your seeds for an early crop next year?

We had a wonderful 3 days at the BBC Gardeners’ World Fair Autumn Fair at Audley End House and Gardens over the weekend! 🌷🪴

Now that Autumm is approaching, lots of discussions were had about the benefits of mulching - and about renovating our lawns after this dry summer! We also got to meet many existing customers which is always lovely! ☺️

Did you go to the Autumn Fair last weekend?

First load of compost delivered to Audley End Audley End House and Gardens ahead of the Gardener’s World Autumn Fair this weekend! BBC Gardeners’ World Fair 🚛

120m3 of our compost will be used by landscapers and garden designers in their Beautiful Borders gardens - one of our favourite things to look at during the show 😍🪻🌷

We’re really proud and happy to be supplying the compost for a second year running! And we will also be exhibiting again - come find us this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (opposite the floral stands by the entrance!) 😊😊

We can’t wait to meet everyone and see these beautiful borders come to life!

🌱 Quality materials make a difference.

A big shoutout to our friends Field Compost Ltd who supply the professional top dressing materials we use as part of our lawn renovation work.

We use plenty of their Field No.4 and Field No.5 top dressings, helping us improve soil structure, level surfaces and create the ideal conditions for new grass seed to establish.

With our autumn lawn renovation season underway, we’re looking forward to getting plenty more of it down over the coming weeks! 🍂🌱

Great lawns start from the ground up — and using quality materials is an important part of achieving quality results.

Thanks to the team at Field Compost for keeping us supplied! 👏

P.S. we love the new-look bags!! 😃

Ernie wants to know if there were any other dog gardeners and businessmen that follow us? If so, comment a pic of your nature-loving pooch below:

Save for later 📌 Have you heard of the mason jar test? It’s an easy diy test that you can do at home to discover what type of soil you have in your garden 🪴

After you let your soil mixture settle, you can estimate your soil type by eye, or measure each layer and work out its %. Use the soil texture triangle on the last slide to discover your soil type! 🪱📏🫙

We gave this test a go at home and it does actually work! Just be aware of large debris or rocks (sieve them out if you can), and if you have really clay soil it may need 48 hours to settle. 🫙

What type of soil do you have!? Let us know in the comments ⬇️

Our courgettes are just loving the no dig bed! 🥒
Last November we made a no dig bed, with cardboard and a layer of our No.12 Nutrimulch 🪱
Then a few weeks ago we transplanted our courgette plants into the bed, and since then they have just gone crazy! 😍 Too crazy that there’s no space to plant anything else!

Don’t be alarmed if our bags look a little different the next time you order! Our 40L bags of Field No.4 Lawn Dressing and Field No.12 Nutrimulch have had a makeover! They’re a little more square, plumper and look so satisfying when stacked on a pallet 😍
