Remembrance Sunday – 8 November

Please join us for this year’s Remembrance Service at the War Memorial.

We kindly ask everyone attending to arrive by 10.45am.

If you, or someone you know, requires a seat, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

There will be a limited number of seats available and these must be pre-booked.

Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday.

A few key points from our October Full Council meeting:

• We warmly welcomed our newly elected councillor, Cllr Dean Whiting, to the Council.

• Thank you to everyone who helped with the recent village clean-up and bulb planting. More volunteers will be needed towards the end of November when trees arrive for planting in the paddock area.

• The Council raised no objections to the planning applications at 1B Frederick Street and The Paddocks Farm, Oving Road.

• Buckinghamshire Council provided updates on several local highways issues, including Blackgrove Road, Baker Street, High Street, the Old A41 and School Lane.

• Sadly, due to low ticket sales, the Halloween Disco on 31 October has been cancelled.

• Remembrance Sunday service at the War Memorial will take place on 8 November and the Santa Float is planned for 19 December.

The next Full Council meeting will be held on 18 November at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. There will be no meeting in December.

Skate Park Update

The large main ramp has now been completed and can be used. This is the largest element of the skatepark and has required the majority of the on-site construction work so far.

The main ramp is only the first phase and will eventually link with the other obstacles being installed as part of phase 2.

Some elements you can currently see, particularly the safety rails and temporary backboards, are not their final finished appearance. These will have a more substantial final finish as the different elements of the park come together.
