The next Council Leader Q&A event will be broadcast in December.

But all questions must be pre-submitted by 9am on Friday 6th November for consideration to be answered.

We were delighted to see such a great take-up for the last event with over 23,000 people tuning in and partaking in our local democracy.

And we're looking forward to this next event being an even bigger success and hope that council might even consider moving from a pre-recorded format to a live event moving forwards.

The link containing details for submission can be found in the link below 👇

Let's raise over £60 billion by taxing extreme wealth and profits, so those with the broadest shoulders pay their fair share, starting with:

- Aligning rates of Capital Gains Tax with Income Tax and closing loopholes, to raise an additional £19.7 billion annually by 2030.

- Applying National Insurance to Investment income, in line with employment income, to raise at least £6.1 billion per year.

- Introducing an annual wealth tax of 1 per cent on assets over £10million, and 2 percent over £1 billion, to raise at least £14.8 billion.

- Introducing a proper windfall tax of 38 per cent on the UK's biggest banks, to raise at least £19 billion.

- Ending tax breaks to fossil fuel producers to raise £2.7 billion and introducing a permanent Energy Profits Levy on oil and gas companies.

- Removing data centres from the full expensing tax relief scheme to bring forward an additional £5 billion in corporation tax across 2027-2029.

Children go hungry and public services crumble because of the political choice that is austerity.

It doesn't have to be this way.

It is time to tax the super rich and end austerity.
