Active travel in shifts up a gear with the arrival of Lime! 🟢🚲

The fleet of state-of-the-art e-bikes has been wheeled out across the borough this week. The bikes are Lime’s most advanced model to date and the only fleet of its kind in the UK.

📱 Fancy giving one a go? Here's how it works:

1️⃣ Find an available bike using the Lime or Uber app as bikes are added across the borough.
2️⃣ Scan the bike's QR code to hire it.
3️⃣ Rides cost 20p per minute, with discounted LimePass bundles available from £2.99 for 30 minutes.

Riders must be aged 18 or over, and wearing a helmet is recommended.

The hardest part of buying a Halloween costume can be choosing who to go as... but make sure you're not getting ‘tricked’ out of safety! 🎃

A few simple checks can help make sure your child’s costume is safe. Here are Walsall Trading Standards’ top tips:

ℹ️ Children’s costumes are classed as toys, so look for a CE or UKCA mark on the label, the manufacturer’s details and appropriate age warnings.

🔥 Costumes are more flammable than normal clothes. Stay vigilant and keep children away from naked flames such as candles, sparklers and bonfires, especially when wearing fake beards, wigs or other flammable items.

👕 Putting normal clothing underneath a costume can provide an additional layer between the costume and skin, while making sure costumes fit properly can help prevent trips, slips and falls.

🛒 Buy from reputable suppliers and check labels for instructions and warnings. Check reviews carefully and be wary of products that provide little safety information or have no manufacturer details.
