Planned traffic management will be used to safeguard teams carrying out roadside litter picking on various routes across the district, next week.

On the 2nd November there will be a special single-issue meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny committee. It will scrutinise Qualis.

Councillors have been asked to submit questions in advance, the deadline for questions in advance is the 28th. You can send your questions to me, Councillor Morris at [email protected].

Of course questions can also be asked at the meeting but submitting them in advance allows more time to prepare detailed responses.

The Waltham Abbey Historical Society held a fascinating talk on William Byrd who was an English Renaissance composer. Something I knew nothing about so I learnt a lot!

I attended the Stay Safe and Well session at the Town Hall on Thursday. A really successful event, both informative and entertaining.

Saturday saw the Community Champions litter pick, starting from the Leisure Center we clear litter from the surrounding area. Another successful litter picking session.

I attended a detailed briefing from the LGA on the importance of Audit Committees in local authorities. These committees are the one place where processes, systems and strategies are reviewed and recommendations made for improvement. I currently sit on the EFDC Audit Committee so this was a very relevant webinar.

Its amazing to see some momentum behind the campaign to improve bus services in Waltham Abbey by bringing TfL services into the Abbey. Some really amazing news announced at today's Waltham Abbey Town Partnership meeting, their Lottery bid was successful and with contribution from Qualis as well the total amount is over £95,000! Next year, Year of the Normans, will be a fantasic year for the Abbey.
