🎃👻 Spooky Shenanigans at Safety Central! 👻🎃

The ghosts, ghouls, skeletons and pumpkins have taken over Safety Central, ready for a fang-tastic Halloween! 🕸️🦇

While you're out trick-or-treating, remember to stay safe by wearing bright clothing, sticking with friends and family, carrying a torch, and only visiting homes where you're welcome. 🎃🔦

Have a frightfully fun Halloween, but don't let safety vanish into the night! 👻✨

🎃 Our in-house pumpkin carving expert, Sean, has been working his magic today at Safety Central! 👏🧙‍♂️

👻 As you get ready for your own spooky celebrations, remember to stay safe. Instead of using candles inside pumpkins, choose battery-powered tea lights for a safer way to light up your Halloween displays. 🕯️➡️🔋✨

😊 Last Friday, we welcomed the CRFS King's Trust Team from Warrington to Safety Central for a fantastic day of learning and teamwork!

In the morning, the group worked alongside our partners from Cheshire Police and the Magistrates, gaining valuable insights into the justice system, personal responsibility, and making positive choices. They also took part in a session on cyber safety, learning how to stay safe online.

The fun continued in the afternoon as they put their problem-solving skills to the test in our Escape to Safety activity. Great teamwork, plenty of challenges, and lots of laughs made for an enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone involved! 👏🔐🚒

🔔 Test It Tuesday! 🔔

When was the last time you tested your smoke alarm?

Today is the perfect reminder to press the test button and make sure it's working. A working smoke alarm can give you those vital extra seconds to escape if a fire starts.

🚨 Don't ignore the bleep! 🚨

If your smoke alarm is chirping, it could mean the battery needs replacing or the alarm needs attention. Never remove the battery or ignore the warning sound.

✅ Test it weekly
✅ Replace batteries when needed
✅ Replace smoke alarms when they reach their expiry date

Take a minute today to test your smoke alarms and help keep your household safe. 🏠🔥

🚨 Are You Emergency Ready? 🚨

At Safety Central, our Year 5 pupils take part in an interactive activity designed to help them become more prepared for emergencies, supporting the Government's focus on building community and societal resilience.

One of the challenges involves deciding what should be included in an emergency grab bag, encouraging pupils to think about the essential items they and their families might need if they had to leave home quickly or cope without power and other services. Through discussion and hands-on activities, they learn the importance of planning ahead, staying informed and being ready for unexpected situations.

By building these skills at a young age, we're helping to create confident, resilient young people who can play their part in staying safe and supporting their communities. 💙🚒

Over the past two days, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming some amazing students from Riverside College, Widnes to Safety Central! 👏

Students took part in interactive sessions learning about staying safe at home, online and outdoors, while also working with our valued partners from Cheshire Police, the Magistrates Service and Youth Fed. Together they explored important topics including cyber safety, making positive choices, and understanding the consequences of involvement in crime.

In the afternoon, students were expertly guided around the centre by our fantastic volunteer Rangers, Anne, Janet and Wendy, who helped bring the safety messages to life through engaging discussions and activities.

A huge well done to all the students for their enthusiasm, engagement and willingness to learn. We hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we enjoyed having you! 🚒💻🏡

🎃👻 Halloween is all about spooky fun, but safety should always come first!

When choosing a costume, make sure it meets UK safety standards by looking for the UKCA or CE mark and buying from reputable retailers. Remember that some fancy dress costumes can be highly flammable, so keep children well away from candles, bonfires, fireworks and other heat sources.

A little extra care can help ensure everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! 🧙‍♀️🎃
