North Shropshire Conservatives

Great news from across the constituency border from our friends at Shrewsbury Conservative Association on choosing former councillor and Mayor, Becky Wall as their candidate for the upcoming Battlefield Ward by-election on Shrewsbury Town Council! All the best from us here in North Shropshire and we’ll provide as much support as possible!

A very big thank you to our guest speaker this evening, Lord Johnson of Lainston, at our amazing event at Goldstone Hall Hotel. Fantastic food and great company, along with a wonderful speech from Lord Johnson made it a very memorable evening!

North Shropshire Conservatives are preparing to open the next tranche of council candidate selections, and we want to hear from people who are ready to make a difference in their local communities.

Following the successful completion of our first tranche, we’re looking for more people who share our Conservative values, care about their local area and want to play an active role in shaping its future.

You don’t need previous experience as a councillor. Whether your strengths lie in business, communications, community work, leadership or simply understanding the issues that matter to local residents, your skills, experience and enthusiasm could make a real difference.

This is an opportunity to stand up for your community, represent local residents and help deliver a stronger future for North Shropshire.

✅ Passionate about your local area?
✅ Ready to stand up for Conservative values?
✅ Interested in making a difference?

We want to hear from you!

Interested in finding out more? Send us a message or get in touch to register your interest. Expressing an interest does not commit you to standing for selection.

Your community needs a voice. Could it be yours?

Your Lib Dem MP failed to vote. Again.

Another important vote, this time on MoD Bicester and illegal migrants, and Helen Morgan was nowhere to be seen in the division.

North Shropshire residents deserve an MP who turns up and takes a position on the issues that matter both locally and nationally. This time is was Piddington, next time it could be North Shropshire. Will Helen be there then?

Why wasn’t she there?

Your Lib Dem MP, Helen Morgan, has failed to protect your right to trial by Jury.

Today, the Conservative Party voted to protect your right to trial by Jury.

Your Lib Dem MP didn’t bother to register a vote.

HOSPITAL PARKING CHARGES MUST BE RETHOUGHT

North Shropshire residents shouldn’t face rising parking costs just to attend a hospital appointment. Today’s news of rising charges is yet another barrier for patients.

Parking at both Shrewsbury and Telford hospitals is already a challenge. Increasing charges during a cost-of-living crisis puts even more pressure on patients and families who have little choice but to travel.

Healthcare is stressful enough without worrying about the cost of getting through the hospital doors.

North Shropshire Conservatives are calling on SaTH to rethink these increases and urging Helen Morgan MP to step in and press the Trust to reconsider.

Patients deserve a fair deal.

Great to open up the national papers and see our members front and centre supporting Kemi Badenoch at the Conservatives Conference 2026! Well done everyone!

Heather Kidd is now warning Shropshire residents that council cuts are coming, services are under pressure and council tax is likely to rise again.

But here’s the awkward bit.

You cannot spend a year telling Shropshire residents that the financial crisis is someone else’s fault while presiding over an adverse budget variance and then asking those same residents to pay more.

When the Conservatives were running Shropshire Council, there was a balanced budget in place.

The Lib Dems took control.

Now we have a financial emergency, depleted reserves, the prospect of further cuts and yet another council tax rise.

At some point, the excuses have to stop.

Residents deserve answers, not another bill.

How we get around our county affects all of us, from getting to work and school, to supporting our high street and local businesses.
