DOG FOULING : We know that most dog owners in the village do the right thing every day — so thank you! Your responsible actions help keep our village paths and open spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

However, there has been an increase in the amount of dog fouling in some areas so this is a reminder. Please pick up after your dog and if you see dog fouling, or know an owner who isn't being responsible, you can report it to Maldon District Council.

Due to frequent electricity power cuts in our area, UK Power Networks has asked the Parish Council to help gather evidence. If you experience a power cut, could you drop us an email or post on FB with your road name and we'll maintain a log. Whether it helps or not remains to be seen! Email - [email protected]

Community Transport User & Awareness Survey 2026

Due to the positive level of engagement received so far, Essex County Council has decided to extend the survey period until 30 October 2026 to provide additional time for residents to participate.

This will allow more time for residents, carers, volunteers, Community Transport users, and those interested in Community Transport services to share their views and experiences.
The survey aims to help us better understand:
• How residents use Community Transport services.
• Levels of awareness of services available locally.
• User experiences and satisfaction.
• Barriers to accessing services.
• Unmet transport needs.
• The wider impact Community Transport has on independence and wellbeing.

Our next Parish Council Meeting is on Tuesday 6th October starting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall Boardroom. Everyone is welcome to come along. Here's what's on the Agenda:

22/09/2026

NUMBER 90 BUS. We made enquiries as to what will happen to the bus during the road closures next week, and here's what Stephensons said. Please spread the word to anyone you know who is a regular bus user:

Due to the closure of Witham Road in Wickham Bishops between 28th September and 2nd October, service 90 will be forced to divert as follows:

From Maldon The Causeway, service 90 will travel along Holloway Road, left onto Langford Road, right onto the B1018 Witham Road, right onto Maldon Road then normal line of route from the bottom of Blue Mills Hill.

The reverse of this when heading from Witham to Maldon.

Unfortunately when this section of road is closed, the diversion is quite significant.

We will not be able to serve:

Broad Street Green
Prince of Wales Road
Catchpole Lane
Walden House Road
Kelvedon Road/Finch’s
Snows Corner
Blue Mills Hill.

Before 10:00 and after 15:00 the bus will return to its normal line of route.
