Friday's Job Fair saw well over 2,000 residents attend looking for work. One of the highlights was Wiggle, a new company coming to the city, As well as the Jobs Fair their was a chance to do your bit by doing a 1 mile walk around the Molineux for the Million Miles Challenge

Jobs fair to help people back into work

Hundreds of jobs, training and volunteering opportunities in Wolverhampton will be on offer at a special event for job seekers.
The Wolverhampton Jobs Fair, which has been organised as part of Working Well Week, will be held in the WV1 Suite at Molineux Stadium on Friday 27 March, 2015, from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

More than 30 employers from across Wolverhampton will be at the event to showcase career opportunities available to city jobseekers.

They include Wiggle, Thompson AVC, the Armed Forces, West Midlands Police, UTC Aerospace, Eurofins, McDonalds, Angel Springs, Carillion, BCA Logistics, National Express, Transline and Tailored Care and Wolverhampton City Council.

A number of education and training providers will also be at the event to enable people to find out about courses that can help them gain skills to increase their future career prospects.

Councillor Peter Bilson, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Prosperity, said: "We have a long term plan to encourage enterprise, empower people, reinvigorate our city and improve the prosperity of businesses and residents and this event supports that.

"We're ambitious and optimistic about the future of the city. It is a great place to live, work, visit and do business."

Councillor Phil Page, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Schools, Skills and Learning, added: "This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for work, a change of career or thinking of taking up training or education courses. Over 30 local employers will be exhibiting and with hundreds of vacancies on offer this event is not to be missed."

The event is open to all and booking is not required.

The Wolverhampton Jobs Fair is just one of a range of events taking place during Working Well Week, from 23 to 27 March, providing support to help local people boost their chances of finding the right job, getting the right training and improving their health and wellbeing. Creative Monday (on Tuesday) 23/03/2015

Creative Monday will be at a new venue and confusingly be on a Tuesday this month! It will take place at Wild Bytes Café and Lounge, Darlington Street, Wolverhampton WV1 4HW on Tuesday the 7th of April 2015 from 6.30-8.30pm
We'll be offering the usual mix of presentations from local businesses and organisations, including and information about business support available in Wolverhampton. Do get in touch if you would like to present a 5 minute pitch about your business.

Creative Monday offers networking to anyone running, starting or thinking about setting up a creative business in the West Midlands.

The event is free. Drinks and snacks will be available to buy.
