An atmospheric Elizabethan farmhouse that saved a King

This atmospheric Elizabethan farmhouse conceals a priest's hole and hiding places, in one of which Charles II hid while on the run after being defeated at the Battle of Worcester in 1651.

Try this months Scone Of The Month!

We have a Coronation Cheese Scone. A savoury scone, with a tangy twist. Baked with mature Cheddar cheese, curry spices and sultanas, and then smothered with extra Cheddar on top.
Make it a cream tea with mango chutney and a dollop of coriander and lime cream cheese.

Our tearoom is open 10am - 4:30pm, pop in for a hot drink and treat after a walk around the grounds.

Join the fun this May Half Term and help us to celebrate Oak Apple Day by helping the Whitgreave family to get to King Charles II's birthday party! Saturday 23rd May to Sunday 31st May.

King Charles II is throwing a magnificent party to celebrate his birthday and his return to the throne, and he wants the brave Whitgreave family to join him. But disaster has struck - the Royal Messenger dropped the invitation, and the wind blew it into seven pieces which are hidden around the gardens.

Can you search the grounds, find the missing parts, and fill in the blanks so the family knows when and where the big celebration will be?

Trails can be purchased from Visitor Reception for 50p, with a sticker prize at the end.

Please note, normal admission costs apply, no booking required, children must be supervised at all times

🌸Celebrate May Day with us at Moseley Old Hall

🔔Bring the family along on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May, 11am–3pm, and get creative with our Maypole Jingle Stick craft activity.
For just £1.50 per crafter (plus normal admission), children can make and decorate their own ribbon-and-bell stick before heading outside to dance around our beautifully dressed maypole. No booking needed-just drop in. Last start time 2:45pm, children must be supervised at all times be a responsible adult, no booking required.

💐The maypole has been a joyful symbol of spring for centuries, dating back to medieval England when communities gathered to celebrate the end of winter with music, ribbons, and dance. Though the tradition was once banned during the 17th century, it returned with great enthusiasm after the restoration of Charles II - and it has been bringing people together ever since.

📢 A new pin badge has landed at Moseley Old Hall! 📢

Our brand-new badge features the intricate 'crewel' embroidery design, meaning sewing wool onto fabric. You can see the design on the King's Bed in the Hall, so why not have a look around on your next visit?

All donations from this pin badge help to look after Moseley's collections, buildings, and landscape for future generations.

Did you know?
The bed itself was gifted to Moseley Old Hall by Rosalie Mander, the widow of Sir Geoffrey Mander of Wightwick Manor (Wightwick Manor & Gardens) in 1962.
