OFFERTON LANE – FLY-TIPPING UPDATE

Following the latest reports and photographs of fly-tipping on Offerton Lane, I’ve been back in touch with Worcester City Council officers.

I’m pleased to confirm that the footpath leading to the canal is scheduled to be cleared tomorrow.

I’ve also been advised that Worcestershire County Council officers met last week to discuss options for preventing further fly-tipping. City Council officers are following up on those discussions, with the aim of agreeing preventative measures before carrying out a full clearance of the site.

I’ve been raising this issue since I was first elected in 2023, and I completely understand the frustration of residents and those working at Shire Business Park. I share it.

There has been work going on behind the scenes, but I appreciate that what matters to residents is seeing a real difference on the ground.

I’m grateful to the officers involved for their continued efforts, particularly Gareth and his team at Worcester City Council.

Clearing the rubbish is one thing. Stopping it from coming back is the real challenge.

I’ll continue to follow this up and share further updates as soon as I have them.
