Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (6829-0898-2028-3594) affecting Middleton Street from its junction with Vicar Street for 75 metres southwards (the “Road”) in the Town of Wymondham to facilitate frame and cover repair works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be between 07:30 and 17:00 on 27th October 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 8th December 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.
Alternative route is via: Middleton Street, Church Street, Vicar Street.
The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Anglian Water.
Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.
The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 8th December 2026 without further notice.
If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.
A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

🌳 Great News for Wymondham – £10,000 Grant Secured for a New Mini Forest! 🌱

We’re delighted to announce that Wymondham Town Council has been successful in securing a £10,000 grant from South Norfolk Council’s Nature Conservation Fund, match funded by the Town Council, to create a new Miyawaki mini forest at Browick Recreation Ground.
Around 700 saplings will be planted across a 200m² area, using a method developed by Japanese botanist Dr Akira Miyawaki to help establish a biodiverse woodland more quickly. 🌿
The mini forest will provide valuable habitat for wildlife, support local biodiversity and contribute to the Town Council’s Climate Action Plan and Biodiversity Policy.
The mini forest forms part of the first phase of the Browick Recreation Ground revamp, which will see the existing skate park extended and the pump track refurbished. Further planned improvements include a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), trim trail, accessible path and picnic area.
🌱 Work is planned to begin later this year, with community planting days giving residents the opportunity to get involved. There will also be a competition to name the new mini forest!
A big thank you to South Norfolk Council for supporting this project, and to Town Councillor Annette James for preparing the successful grant application.

Once again we will be marking Baby Loss Awareness Week.
💗💙 The Market Cross will be lit up in pink and blue every evening throughout the week.
💌 Letters to Heaven Post Box
The Letters to Heaven post box outside Wymondham Cemetery's Chapel (Cemetery Lane) is available to anyone who would like to write a letter or card to a baby or loved one they are remembering. Simply place it in an envelope and post it — no stamp is needed.
Confidentiality is assured. The letters are eventually shredded and composted for use within the cemetery grounds, returning something deeply personal to the earth. 🌱🕊️
The beautiful post box topper is currently in place, along with information about organisations that can offer support.

🕯️ Wave of Light – Thursday 15 October, 7pm
A Wave of Light gathering will take place at the Market Cross. Everyone is welcome to attend and remember babies who are no longer with us.

Norwich Cathedral will host a Doorway of Hope service with Time Norfolk — a service of remembrance for anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss, at any stage.

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (0026-4271-0001-5457) affecting Orchard Way from its junction with Norwich Road for 50 metres westwards (the “Road”) in the Town of Wymondham to facilitate gas main replacement works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 19th October to 16th November 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 16th May 2027 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.
Alternative route is via: Orchard Way, Rothbury Road, Pople Street, Folly Road, Norwich Road.
The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Cadent.
Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to an electrical fault the use by vehicles (of any class) of Damgate Street from its junction with Friarscroft Lane for 50 metres northwards (the “Road”) in the Town of Wymondham will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.

Alternative route is via: Whitehorse Street, London Road, Avenue Road, Fairland Street, Market Place, Market Street, Church Street, Vicar Street.

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: UK Power Networks.

The closure/restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the Road or both.

The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place from 5th to 12th October 2026, but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 25th October 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

This Notice shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works / when the closure/restriction is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 25th October 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, this Notice may be extended for an additional 21 days by further Notice and/or for a maximum of 18 months from the date this Notice is effective by further Order.
