A big shout-out to the best crowd ever for making our Ho-Down evening a massive success 👏 Thanks for stepping out with us and helping us raise over £1300 that will go towards the running of our library.

Giant thanks to Boot Scoot for teaching us the moves and keeping the dance floor packed all night. We kicked up our heels and danced the night away. Nothing beats great music and great company.

Further thanks go to our incredible volunteers, The Friends of Boroughbridge Library and the amazing local businesses who donated to our raffle! 🌟 Your support made our evening an unforgettable success. We couldn't have done it without this wonderful community!

Did you know... in the last three months to 30th September, we had over 10,000 visits to our library and over 4000 books borrowed! We are very proud to have such active borrowers and a great following with our younger readers, getting very close to matching our adult readership numbers 🚸📚

Our customers visit for many other reasons; to take part in weekly activities and special events, to use our public computers, use the printing and scanning facilities and seek tourist information.

Boroughbridge is a growing community and this is reflected in our increase in active borrowers. If you are new to the area or just haven't had a chance to visit the library yet, do come along and say hello - we love books but we do so much more 😍

Opening Hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Saturday: 10am - 1pm
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am - 4pm

The search for our personal family history remains a very popular past-time and it is so lovely to know that libraries play a big part in helping customers trace relatives and find their own history. In the first six months of this year customers used their library membership to access nearly 4,000 sessions on Ancestry.com and over 23,000 records were viewed on Find my Past, saving customers £100s on personal subscriptions to these services.

We are incredibly lucky in Boroughbridge to have our own Family Historian and we invite you to book a session with Jackie if you would like any guidance or support in unlocking your own family history. Jackie is available on Thursday afternoons and you can book a session by phoning or popping into the library.
