Condensation is more of a problem during the winter. What can you do about it?

Open windows after bathing or showering to allow warm damp air to escape and keep the door shut to the room at the same time. Using the fan whilst bathing or showering will also help.

Check your extractor fans are working, if they are not contact our Central Repairs Team who will send an electrician to check them over.

Keep lids on saucepans to reduce the amount of steam escaping.

If you must dry clothes indoors don’t put them on the radiators as this allows the moisture given off to reach every room in the house. Instead put the clothes on an airer in the bathroom, close the door and open the bathroom window, if it is safe to do so.

If you’re a Caerphilly Homes tenant and have damp or mould issues in your home, that you can’t resolve yourself, they could be due to structural faults and so you should contact our Central Repairs Team to arrange for a surveyor to visit by calling 01443 864886 or emailing [email protected]
