The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), in collaboration with the Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Fund (GSDTF), as part of its outreach initiative is engaging secondary school students on the importance of biodiversity and renewable energy for Grenada’s sustainable future. The second part of the session are facilitated by PURC representatives, Public Relations Assistant Mr. Raheem Smith and Consumer and Public Affairs Officer Ms. Allecia Andrew.

forward-looking regulation to meet the sector’s evolving needs.

We have some exciting news. The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) is collaborating with the Fiscal Resilience Oversight Committee (FROC) to host an essay writing competition under the topic: Exploring the Fiscal Resilience Act: Leveraging Climate-Resilient Public Investment and Renewable Energy to Enhance Government Operations and Sustainable Development.
The competition is opened in all form 3 students in secondary schools in the state of Grenada.

Calling all Form 3 students across Grenada! 🇬🇩

The FROC 2026 Essay and Creative Writing Competition is here, giving young minds the opportunity to explore ideas around fiscal and climate resilience, sustainable development, and Grenada’s future.

Essay Topic: Exploring the Fiscal Resilience Act: Leveraging Climate-Resilient Public Investment and Renewable Energy to Enhance Government Operations and Sustainable Development.

This year’s competition encourages students to think critically, write creatively, and develop solutions that can help shape a stronger and more sustainable nation.

🗓️ Programme Dates: 6th – 17th July 2026
📍 Hosted at community libraries across Grenada
