Our brother Randy passed away yesterday unexpectedly. Many friends and family follow this page and indeed for many years Randy managed Sunnyside Garden and entertained visitors, so it’s appropriate to say this here.

Randy remarried in 2021 and for the last several years has been building a new life in Dominica with his wife Jaceline. We were lucky enough to all meet up in Grenada last July for a family reunion, including Jaceline, and Randy’s four children Jurana, Randa, Robyn and their families, and 17 year old Geuel.

Anyone who knew Randy would have found him memorable. He was in turns gregarious, funny, opinionated and strong in faith. He really had a way with people, loved by many, and always with a joke to tell. He leaves the world richer for the many friends who knew him.

Our thoughts are with Jaceline and his children Jurana, Randa, Robyn and especially Geuel.

Friends & Family – our mother Jean passed away on Sunday evening. It was a mercifully swift and peaceful transition, as she had been up and about until very recently. It was the kind of exit she would have wanted.
Most of you will remember her in the place she loved the most, her garden, which she developed and tended almost every waking hour and every day, until she was unable to.
She had a great sense of humour, but couldn’t tell a joke 😊. She was an unassuming matriarch and an open-minded person who didn’t judge others.
Even though she suffered from dementia for the past several years, she maintained her sense of humour and ability to re-tell stories and music from her past, sometimes to our embarrassment…😊
We’ll skip the RIP, because she certainly did not believe that life was just this…as far as she was concerned, this was just a chapter in a long story.

Apart from the fact that these doves are just too big for the hanging pot, how do we water the fern now?🤷🏼‍♀️🌳🌎💧

Soil rich in organic matter has a much higher capacity to hold and purify water, and we rely on this water for 90% of our agriculture today! If we let the soil continue to get depleted of organic content, we will soon also lose the precious water it stores, quickly leading to more water and food scarcity. ConsciousPlanet.org
