FISCAL SUMMARY DECEMBER 2025 --
For the full-year period January to December 2025, Grenada’s cumulative fiscal performance tracked ahead of baseline targeted
projections. Both the primary balance and overall fiscal balance outpaced year-to-date targets, significantly narrowing
the anticipated fiscal deficits. This positioning occurred within the framework of a temporary suspension of the 1.5% GDP primary
balance fiscal rule, utilized to address capital demands for post-disaster reconstruction.

“Who have good foot, take in front” – A Caribbean Proverb

As the 2026 Hurricane Season rolls around, we are reminded of the fact that rising climate intensity means pre-disaster planning is no longer optional.

In the latest "Let's Talk Finance," Permanent Secretary Mike Sylvester highlights the critical pre-disaster mechanisms Grenada has secured for the 2026 hurricane season.

1️⃣ CCRIF Parametric Insurance: High-speed payouts to kickstart cleanup and income support.

2️⃣ World Bank Catastrophe Deferred Draw Option (Cat DDO): An emergency line of credit ready to pull down the moment a disaster is declared.

3️⃣ National Transformation Fund: A self-funded contingency cushion, putting aside 10% of monthly receipts

Resilience means ensuring that when a crisis hits, water, power, and livelihoods can be restored in days, not years. After all, true disaster resilience isn’t just about weathering the storm, it’s about how fast you can bounce forward.

LOWER BARRIERS, GREATER PARTICIPATION

The Government of Grenada Household Bond has made investing more accessible, and the numbers prove it. Traditionally, entry into the Regional Government Securities Market required a $ 5,000 minimum, but through the Household Bond, investors could start investing with as little as $500. Here is the impact by the numbers:

✅ 45% of the 350 household investors invested between $500–$4,999

More accessibility. More participation. More opportunity for all.
