🔵 Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, together with the French Ambassador to Georgia Olivier Courteau and the Director of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service Mikheil Chokoshvili, opened an international seminar entitled "Port Security and the Fight against Drug Trafficking: From the Black Sea to the European Union".
🔵 Aleksandre Darakhvelidze addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech and he drew attention to the strict state policy and effective measures taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to combat drug trafficking.
🔵 The international seminar organized by the French Embassy in Georgia is being held in Batumi on November 25-26 and aims to strengthen cooperation between states in the fight against drug trafficking in the Black Sea basin.
🔵 Representatives of law enforcement agencies, customs services, and the private sector from 13 European countries are participating in the seminar.

🔵 Davit Tamazashvili, Head of the State Subordinate Entity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Border Police of Georgia, met with Ali Kaan Orbay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia, and Colonel İlhan Öktendural, Military Attaché of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia.
🔵 Within the framework of the meeting, Davit Tamazashvili and İlhan Öktendural signed a Technical Arrangement "Between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye regarding the Participation of Coast Guard Personnel of Ministry of Internal Affairs State Subordinate Entity - Border Police of Georgia on Board Turkish Navy Ships During NATO Maritime Security Operation 'Sea Guardian'" (OSG).
🔵The purpose of the Arrangement is to regulate bilateral obligations regarding the details of the boarding, deployment, duties, and responsibilities of the Georgian Border Police - Coast Guard Boarding Team on board Turkish navy ships within the framework of the NATO maritime operation "Sea Guardian" (OSG).
🔵It is noteworthy that Türkiye is the second state to express readiness to deploy Georgian Border Police - Coast Guard Boarding Team on its naval ships within the framework of the NATO operation.
🔵It is significant that in May 2022, the North Atlantic Alliance granted Georgia the status of Operational Partner for the maritime operation "Sea Guardian" (OSG). It should be noted that among non-NATO member states, Georgia is the first country to be granted this status following the completion of appropriate certification by the relevant units. Based on the aforementioned decision, Georgia became authorized to provide support to the Alliance in terms of maritime security.

🔵 The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, met with the Director of Evaluation and Inspection of the Air Force of the Republic of Türkiye, Lieutenant General Yaşar Kadıoğlu.
🔵 Yaşar Kadıoğlu led the delegation of the Republic of Türkiye, which arrived in Georgia after the crash of a Turkish military plane - the members of the delegation, together with their Georgian colleagues, participated in relevant search and rescue activities and investigative actions at the site of the plane crash.
🔵 During the bilateral meeting, Yaşar Kadıoğlu thanked Geka Geladze for his effective work and coordinated cooperation. According to the Turkish General, the Georgian police units that worked at the site of the plane crash were distinguished by their high professionalism and standard.
🔵 The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Roni Meskhi, Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service Temur Mghebrishvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia Ali Kaan Orbay, Deputy Chief of Mission, First Counsellor Melike Yılmaz Öskiper, and Military Attaché Colonel İlhan Öktendural.
🔵 The Turkish military plane crashed on November 11, approximately 5 kilometers from the Georgian state border. As a result, 20 personnel of the Turkish Air Force died.

🔵 The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vilayat Eyvazov, paid tribute to the memory of the third President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath at the Heydar Aliyev monument located in Abanotubani, Tbilisi.
🔵 Furthermore, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the “Public Safety Command Center 112”, where representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs introduced the guests in detail to the specifics of the agency’s activities and infrastructure.
🔵 At the end of the official visit, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan thanked his Georgian counterpart for the warm welcome and fruitful meeting.

🔵 The Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed, which was signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vilayat Eyvazov. The agreement will contribute to further strengthening the existing partnership between the relevant agencies of the two countries, including in the field of crime prevention, detection and suppression.
🔵 The areas of cooperation envisaged by the document include such priority areas as: illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime, trafficking, illegal migration and crimes against property.
🔵 In addition, a bilateral meeting was held between the parties in an expanded format, during which the discussion touched upon sectoral reforms, ongoing projects, and the importance of sharing information and experience within the framework of police cooperation.
🔵 The Ministers once again emphasized the existing fruitful cooperation and expressed their willingness to further strengthen ties.

🔵 The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze is hosting his Azerbaijani counterpart, Vilayat Eyvazov.
🔵 The Ministers of the two countries laid a wreath at the memorial to police officers who died in the line of duty, located on the territory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The National Anthems of Georgia and Azerbaijan were played.
🔵 The event was attended by Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, other senior officials of the Ministry, and members of the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

🔵 At the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vilayat Eyvazov, paid an official visit to Tbilisi, accompanied by a delegation.
🔵 Within the framework of the visit, the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the two countries will hold a meeting in an expanded format and sign an agreement that will contribute to the deepening of cooperation in the field of law enforcement between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
🔵 The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the delegation, will also visit the police units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and get acquainted with their activities.

🔵 Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Georgia, Olivier Courteaud.
🔵 The Minister congratulated the French Ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him success in his future endeavors.
🔵 Within the scope of the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and the French Republic. The Minister of Internal Affairs especially emphasized the operative cooperation and its importance in the context of combating organized crime.
🔵 The parties also discussed the perspectives of deepening cooperation and expressed hope that through joint efforts, existing ties between two countries will further deepen.

🔵 The Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted the annual meeting of the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats.
🔵 The annual meeting was held at the LEPL – Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia within the operational activity of the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT), which focuses on property-related crime.
🔵 The event was opened by Irakli Dondoladze, Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Participants were also addressed by the operational activity leader, representative of the Spanish side – José Ángel González Morán. Representatives of about ten European countries participated in the annual meeting, along with relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
🔵 The meeting discussed the experiences of the participating countries in combating criminal trends, including property crimes, as well as existing challenges at the local and international levels and possible ways to solve them.
🔵 The importance of deepening international police cooperation in combating criminal threats, strengthening information exchange mechanisms and sharing best practices was emphasized.
🔵 At the end of the meeting, the parties summarized the progress achieved in combating crime and expressed their readiness for dynamic cooperation in this direction.

🔵 The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze held an introductory meeting with the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland to Georgia – Artur Gębal.
🔵 Within the framework of the meeting, the particular attention was paid to the importance of bilateral cooperation in the fight against crime and its expansion, as well as on the important role of Police Attache՛s in further strengthening existing partnerships.
🔵 The parties discussed the existing relations and priority areas between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
🔵 The Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Georgia thanked the Minister of Internal Affairs for the exemplary police cooperation and support between the countries.
🔵 At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope that through joint efforts, bilateral cooperation will be even more intensive in the future.
