Long before laptops, smartphones and AI, Romania was already asking the question that would define the modern age:

What happens when humans and machines learn to communicate? 🤖

Romania's pioneering work in cybernetics — the science of how systems, humans, and machines interact and exchange information — laid an early blueprint for the logic behind modern computing.

🎥 Watch Răzvan Rotundu, Ambassador of Romania to Georgia tell this story — and come on May 9 at Expo Georgia and discover more engaging stories at Europe Day.

Co-operation between independent institutions is one of the best ways for two societies to meet each other.

We were happy that the Bucharest Bar and the Georgian Bar Association signed the Memorandum of Understanding, a first step for a future co-operation between legal professions.

This day, 30 years ago the Presidents of Romania and Georgia signed the Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation in Tbilisi.

The document, the first to be signed after the recognition of Georgia by Romania in August 1991, shows its age but some provisions remain relevant today as they were three decades ago.

The parties recognize the shared cultural heritage, the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders, they decide to co-operate in issues concerning the Blak Sea area and to enhance economic co-operation.

Also, they decide to enhance their co-operation in accordance with the evolutions from their own countries and the evolutions in Europe. This was a remarkable provisions for the mid 90’s in a moment when both countries were just starting their European journeys.
