GHANAIAN TROOPS ON EXTERNAL OPERATIONS MARK 65TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Troops serving on external operations marked Ghana’s 65th Independence Day Celebrations in Bentiu (South Sudan) and Al Qawzah (Lebanon). The 2022 6th March Anniversary was under the theme “Working together, Bouncing Back Better”
CELEBRATION IN SOUTH SUDAN
Ghana Armed Forces personnel, together with their counterparts from the Ghana Formed Police Unit (GHANFPU) celebrated the anniversary at the Battalion Headquarters in Bentiu.
In the speech delivered by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Michael Mfum, he acknowledged the sacrifices of our fore bearers and expressed gratitude to the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Military and Police high command for the diverse roles they play to preserve the liberty and peace we enjoy in Ghana.
Lt Col Mfum resounded that the celebration of Ghana’s 65th Independence Day should serve as a motivation and a reminder of the oath we swore as uniformed personnel and continue to project the good name of Ghana.
UNIFIL GH 88 MARKS GHANA'S 65TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION
Personnel serving with the United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) - Ghanbatt 88 - marked Ghana's 65th Independence Day Celebration in a colorful ceremony at the Kofi Annan Square (Al Qawzah).
Ghana's Honorary Consul General to Lebanon, His Exellency Ali Samih Jafaar, who was the Special Guest of Honour indicated that, the theme for this year's celebration should remind Ghanaians to eschew negative tendencies and work together in unity, in order that they can surmount any challenge that may confront them.
He used the occasion to commend the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Benjamin Boamah for his exemplary leadership by ensuring unity amongst personnel and also congratulated personnel for their professionalism in operating in such a multinational environment. He advised them to be good ambassadors for Ghana and always ensure their conduct and actions are beyond reproach.
