The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME), Colonel Joseph Busy Boglo, has engaged personnel serving within the various 2 Garrison Light Aid Detachments (LADs) during his maiden familiarisation visit to the Garrison on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Director to formally acquaint himself with personnel, operational activities and engineering support systems within the Garrison, while also assessing areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and technical support.

As part of the visit, Colonel Boglo paid courtesy calls on the 2 Garrison Commander and Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, the Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, Commodore Samuel Ayelazono and the Second-in-Command of 2 Infantry Battalion, Major Richard Hokoe.

As part of an ongoing initiative to engage and honour senior retired officers of the Ghana Air Force, a delegation from the Air Force Headquarters paid a courtesy call on former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe (Rtd), at his residence on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

The initiative, by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, seeks to strengthen the bond between serving and retired personnel, while recognising the invaluable contributions of retired senior officers to the growth and development of the Ghana Air Force.

The visit also coincided with the birthday of Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd), providing an opportunity for the delegation to celebrate the occasion and express appreciation for his distinguished service to the nation.

As part of activities marking the Mental Health Awareness Month, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) organised a quiz competition at the Burma Hall on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

The competition, which brought together participants from the Ghana Army, Ghana Navy and Ghana Air Force, was organised on the theme “Mental Health for Operational Readiness in GAF.”

The quiz featured four rounds, namely General Knowledge, Crossword Puzzle, Problem of the Day and Creativity.

To mark the occasion of Eid dul Adha, a delegation of Muslim personnel and families from 6 Garrison paid a courtesy call on the Base Commander of Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, at his official residence on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi, who also serves as the 6 Garrison Commander, warmly received the delegation, extending his well-wishes for the festive period. During the reception, the Base Commander commended the personnel for their commitment to fostering military cohesion and mutual respect. He praised their long-standing tradition of visiting Command during religious celebrations to offer prayers, noting that such gestures strengthen the morale and camaraderie of the Garrison.

Air Force Base (AFB) Takoradi has organised a three-week cadre programme for bandsmen in preparation for their main course at the Armed Forces Music School in Accra on Monday, 25 May, 2026.

Addressing participants during the opening session, the Officer Commanding Air Force Band, Flight Lieutenant Nelson Ocloo urged the bandsmen to remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the training period. He noted that the cadre was intended to refresh their knowledge and improve their performance ahead of the main course.

BASE COMMANDER AFB-TAK DONATES COW TO MUSLIM COMMUNITY AHEAD OF EID CELEBRATION.

The Base Commander of Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, has donated a cow to the Muslim community of the Base towards the celebration of Eid on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
The gesture formed part of the Base Commander’s commitment to promoting unity, religious tolerance and the welfare of personnel within the Base.

Presenting the cow, the Base Commander commended the Muslim community for their dedication, discipline and contribution towards the peace and operational effectiveness of the Base. He urged them to continue praying for peace, unity and progress within the Ghana Armed Forces and the nation as a whole.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Muslim community, the Deputy Chief Imam of the Moshie community in the Western Region who is also a Defence Civilian Staff, Sheikh Musah Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the Base Commander for the kind gesture and continued support to the Muslim faithful. He assured the Commander of the community’s continuous prayers for the leadership of the Base and the Ghana Armed Forces.

Present were the Acting Flying Group Commander and Commanding Officer Air Traffic Management, Wing Commander Clara Oduro-Gyamfi, the Commanding Officer Administration, Wing Commander Abdul Sherfi Mustapha, Officers and Defence Civilian Staff.

The Ghana Air Force Female Handball Team has emerged as the overall winners of the Pre-Season Handball Tournament held from 20 to 24 May 2026, at the Burma Camp Supply Handball Court.

The tournament, which brought together four competing teams under the theme, “One Game, One Spirit, One Unity,” was organised to prepare clubs and players ahead of the upcoming handball season while promoting unity, teamwork and sportsmanship among clubs and officials.
