The French Ambassador to Ghana, HE Anne Sophie Ave has on Thursday 9 September 2021 paid her maiden working visit to the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama at his office in Burma Camp, Accra.
The visit was to congratulate the CDS on his appointment and elevation to the highest office in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and also to discuss issues of bilateral relations between the two armed forces.
Addressing the CDS and some Senior Officers of GAF, the French Ambassador proposed for a new approach to combat terrorism because terrorists have no regard for diplomacy and the rules of engagement. HE Anne Sophie Ave also hinted of plans of the French government to undertake project, codenamed, Project Defence. The project would see to the refurbishing of some aircrafts of the Ghana Air Force, training of pilots, equipping the aircrafts with image capturing technology and training of personnel to analyse those data.On his part, Vice Admiral Amoama commended the French government for their continuous support by deploying troops to complement the efforts of the affected countries.
Present with the CDS were the Acting Chief Of Staff and Director General Research, Plans and Development, Brigadier General RA Gyane, Director General Personnel Administration Michael Appiah-Agyekum and other senior officers. HE Anne Sophie Ave was accompanied by the Defence Attaché, Lt Colonel Terry Gelas-Dore.
