Government has commissioned 25 modern solar-powered boreholes under the GROW2 Project to boost year-round vegetable production in northern Ghana.

The initiative implemented by Ministry of Food and Agriculture(MOFA)in partnership with by the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) and funded by Global Affairs Canada, will support over 3,000 women in Savings and Loans Groups across the Northern, Upper West and Savannah regions.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, described the project as a major step towards improving irrigation, increasing productivity, strengthening household incomes and enhancing food security through sustainable agriculture.
