In a significant move towards providing access to education for brilliant but financially needy students in . Standard Weave Cares has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Achimota School to provide scholarships for students from less privileged homes under its Standard Weave Cares Educational Scholarship Scheme.

The partnership will ensure that, the deserving students who will want to pursue a programme in any social science related course in a government tertiary institution will be provided with scholarship that will cover tuition and accommodation. A strong foundation in the social sciences courses will equip beneficiaries to understand social issues and design solutions with a deep human impact.

This partnership is in line with Standard Weave Cares’s mission which focuses on the provision of inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities in Ghana. A mandate which was adopted from the fourth (4th) goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

This opportunity will further empower students in Achimota school not just to pursue business administration courses, but to become well-rounded social entrepreneurs who can make a positive difference in Ghana.

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, we launched the Menstrual Matters programme at Dzorwulu Junior High School. This initiative goes beyond a single donation drive; it’s a sustainable programme designed to tackle the knowledge gaps, stigma, and educational disruptions often associated with menstruation.

For many school-aged girls at Dzorwulu JHS, the start of their period can bring feelings of shame and isolation, leading to missed school days. In extreme cases, this can cause them to fall behind or even drop out entirely. Menstrual Matters aims to change this reality.

Following our commitment to inclusive and equitable quality education, we partnered with to make a lasting impact. Through Menstrual Matters, we are providing an unending supply of sanitary pads to female students of Dzorwulu JHS. These pads will always be available to students from the school authorities whenever they need them. We believe no girl should ever fall behind in class because of her menstrual cycle.

Prioritising menstrual health is crucial for achieving educational equity and significantly contributes to the broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). By ensuring every student has access to menstrual health resources and support, we cultivate a positive school environment where everyone feels confident, valued, and welcome.
