Fort Jackson is a U.S. Army base renowned for its proficiency in training Soldiers in all stages of their careers, not just Basic Training. Our Woodwind Quintet was on hand last week to support a Drill Sergeant graduation ceremony, and we send our congratulations to the Army's newest Drill Sergeants! This We'll Defend!

Today, we celebrate National Airborne Day, marking the first official U.S. Army parachute jump anniversary on August 16, 1940, at Ft. Benning, Ga. Our paratroopers represent our very best to the skies.

Marines are agile warriors who must be able to lead, react, and think tactically. To ensure that they’re always able to do so, Marines are constantly training.

Advanced Individual Training Class 24-003 finished up week three with a showcase of their musical talents. These Soldiers will continue building cohesion within their music performance teams throughout the rest of the cycle!

Congratulations to our Civilian of the Quarter awardees! Their service enhances the 1st Armored Division’s capabilities through their knowledge and expertise. They provide continuity, which allows the division to maintain its forward momentum through transitions and deployments. We appreciate them for all their hard work and continued service.

Last week, Sgt. 1st Class Ashley Taylor recently concluded her three-year tenure as a Drill Sergeant at the U.S. Army School of Music.

Drill Sergeants play a vital role in shaping Soldiers by providing training in combat skills, physical fitness, and tactical proficiency by enforcing discipline and standards, and ensuring adherence to Army expectations. They serve as mentors and role models, helping Soldiers develop resilience and instilling confidence needed for future roles.
