Contrary to circulating information, the government has not introduced any new taxes on mobile money transactions. The charge imposed on transferring funds from mobile wallets to bank accounts is a decision made by Mobile Money Limited, a private entity, and not a government-imposed levy. The Bank of Ghana will issue a directive to halt this charge pending further consultations.
