A short meeting and engagement was held today at the Papao Farm of the National Service Authority, bringing together key stakeholders to explore avenues for agricultural development and youth empowerment.
The Deputy Director-General for Programs and Operations, Lt Col Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu, hosted the Director, Food Systems at the WFP, Steven Nhyira Odarteifio, for the engagement.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions to enhance operations at the Papao Farm, improve agricultural productivity, and build the capacity of service personnel. The meeting also highlighted the importance of leveraging modern farming techniques and strategic partnerships to boost youth involvement in agriculture.
Both parties expressed a shared commitment to advancing initiatives that will not only improve farm outputs but also contribute meaningfully to national food security.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the National Service Authority to position agriculture as a viable pathway for youth development and sustainable economic growth.

The Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ms Ruth Dela Seddoh, served as Special Guest of Honour at the passing-out ceremony of National Service Personnel (NSPs) who recently completed a two-week military orientation programme at Michelle Camp.
She was joined by the Deputy Director-General of Programs and Operations, Lt Col Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu, and the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd, Mr. Courage Makafui Nunekpeku.
The training, conducted under the 1st Battalion Infantry and supervised by Commanding Officer Lt Col F Adams, aimed at instilling discipline, resilience, and a sense of national responsibility among the participants.
At the ceremony, the NSPs showcased a series of drills, demonstrating the skills and discipline acquired during the training period. Their performance drew commendation from the dignitaries present.
Addressing the gathering, Ms Seddoh praised the participants for their commitment and urged them to uphold the values of discipline, loyalty, and integrity in their service to the nation. She further revealed that the National Service Authority is set to roll out a National Military Training Programme, expected to commence between June and July this year.
Other speakers also congratulated the NSPs, encouraging them to apply the lessons learned and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The ceremony marked the successful completion of the pilot phase of the training initiative, positioning it as a key step toward strengthening discipline and professionalism among National Service Personnel.

The initiative involves the deployment of National Service personnel to undergo a two-week military orientation program aimed at instilling discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of national duty.
Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded to Michelle Camp, where the service personnel are currently undergoing training under the 1st Battalion of Infantry, overseen by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col F Adams. During brief engagements with the dignitaries, the National Service personnel expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the program.
In their remarks, the dignitaries congratulated the trainees and emphasized the importance of discipline, loyalty, and integrity, highlighting these values as essential tools in the collective effort to eradicate corruption and build a stronger nation. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss final preparations ahead of the traineesβ passing out ceremony scheduled for tomorrow.

Tuesday 10th March, 2026, Karina Garcia Zamorategui, Head of Tourism, Culture and Education Cooperation at the Embassy of Mexico in Ghana, paid a courtesy visit to Lt. Col. Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu, Deputy Director-General for Programs and Operations at the National Service Authority.
The visit created an opportunity for both parties to engage in discussions on potential areas of collaboration, particularly in cultural exchange, education, and youth development initiatives that could benefit National Service Personnel.
