One-Week Observation Held in Honour of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah
A one-week observation was held today, 29th May 2026, in honour of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah, a National Service Personnel who served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Cape Coast. Mr. Amoadu-Asmah sadly lost his life in a fatal accident that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, 28th April 2026.
The solemn gathering brought together family members, colleagues, students, friends, and sympathizers to mourn the untimely passing of the deceased and to offer support and comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Representing the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ms. Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Central Regional Director, Abdul Karim Rahman, attended the observation and conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Authority to the grieving family. As a gesture of compassion and support, he also presented a donation to the family on behalf of the Authority.
The National Service Authority extends its deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah and continues to pray for strength, comfort, and peace for all affected by this tragic loss.

The National Service Authority (NSA) has released PIN codes for 18,617 eligible Nurses and Midwives for the 2026/27 National Service Year.
Enrolment runs May 25 – June 5, 2026.

The National Service Authority (NSA) has held a pre-campus orientation programme for final-year students of the University of Cape Coast at the NEC Auditorium on 14th May 2026, aimed at preparing students ahead of their national service registration and deployment.
The orientation was organised under the directive of the Director-General, who tasked her two Deputies together with the Deployment, Regional and MIS teams to engage and educate students on the processes and requirements of national service.
Dignitaries present included Deputy Director-General for Operations, Lieutenant Colonel Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu; Deputy Director-General for Finance and Administration, Hon. Donkor Fuseini; Head of Deployment, Yaw Tweneboah Koduah; Head of MIS, John Apraku; the Dean of Students Affairs of UCC; Acting Central Regional Director, Abdul Karim Rahman; and staff of the NSA Central Regional Office.
Abdul Karim Rahman welcomed participants and encouraged students to take the orientation seriously as they prepare to transition into national service.
Lieutenant Colonel Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu highlighted the history and importance of the NSA, outlined requirements students must meet before commencing service, and cautioned against reposting, noting that all placements are aligned with students' academic focus. He also encouraged them to prepare for the mandatory six-week basic military training.
Hon. Donkor Fuseini addressed registration concerns and data mismatch challenges, urging students to resolve all personal information discrepancies before the NSA portal opens.
Head of Deployment, Yaw Tweneboah Koduah, walked students through registration procedures, including obtaining an NSS PIN code, while Head of MIS, John Apraku, stressed the importance of accuracy in resolving name and email mismatches.
The Regional Accountant noted the Authority's transition from E-zwich and GhanaPay to direct bank account payments and highlighted the availability of Absa Bank overdraft support for service personnel.
