The Police Band consists of the Military Band and the Dance Band. It has branches in all regions except Northern Region which is yet to be established.
Officially commissioned by the Inspector-General of Police on 24th December 2025, the Ghana Police Music Academy is poised to train, inspire, and transform musicians of the Police Service, sister security bands, civil society ensembles and individuals, as well as security bands across Sub-Saharan Africa.

In the same spirit, we begin this Music Academic Year by celebrating one of our very own, Chief Inspector Dr. Elikplim Adzroe, Principal of the Ghana Police Music Academy, on the successful completion of his PhD in Music Theory and Composition at the University of Cape Coast. His journey has been marked by discipline, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Dr. Adzroe’s passion for music education and his dedication to imparting quality knowledge have been the driving forces behind this outstanding achievement. He has demonstrated that resilience, focus, and faith in one’s calling make excellence inevitable. His story reminds us that no dream is too distant when purpose leads and perseverance sustains.
